I had a mixed experience at Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park. While the location was convenient and my room was spacious with decent views of the city, the service left much to be desired. The front desk staff seemed unhelpful, and I faced challenges getting the benefits tied to my loyalty status. Overall, it was good but not what I expected from a Grand Mercure.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. However, it felt a bit dusty and not very well maintained upon arrival.
Service
5.0
Service was inconsistent. While some staff members were polite, many at the front desk lacked customer service orientation and did not provide the usual amenities for loyalty members.
Location
8.0
The location was excellent for attending exhibitions and was close to restaurants and shopping. It was also just a 10-minute walk to the train station.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast had a decent spread, but I noticed there could be more variety, especially for guests preferring specific cuisines.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered good facilities including a box for food deliveries and ample cleaning services, but there were limitations such as a fixed number of hangers in the room.

5.2/10

I had a generally good experience at Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park. The hotel was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, but I had a problematic experience with the on-site massage service that really stood out for all the wrong reasons. Overall, I'd consider returning, but I'd think twice about the spa next time.

Rooms
10.0
My room was large, modern, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, which made my stay much more enjoyable.
Service
6.0
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but my experience with the spa service was disappointing. The communication could be better, especially for the shuttle service.
Location
8.0
The hotel is conveniently located near numerous restaurants and it's only a short walk to Century Park and the subway. Perfect for exploring Shanghai!
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was satisfying, offering both Western and Chinese options. It met my expectations for a high-end hotel, though the coffee could use some improvement.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities were solid, but my unpleasant spa experience really soured my impression of the facilities overall. Still, they had decent access to common hotel features.

5.6/10

My stay at Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park was nice for both its excellent service and a few drawbacks. While the staff was proactive and attentive, I did notice some areas that could use improvement—particularly in cleanliness. The location is fantastic, with easy access to restaurants and public transport, but I encountered a couple of maintenance issues in my room.

Rooms
7.0
The room I stayed in was spacious with a beautiful view of the Pudong skyline through large windows. However, there were some maintenance concerns, as I noticed a leak in the shower area that needed addressing.
Service
8.0
The service was generally fantastic, especially from the staff in the Club Lounge, who were friendly and attentive. However, there were instances where communication could have been smoother due to some language barriers.
Location
9.0
The location is a major highlight, being centrally located with many restaurants and shops just steps away. It's easily accessible by Metro and bus, making it convenient for exploring the city.
Dining
9.0
Dining options at the hotel were impressive, especially the food in the Club Lounge, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the quality of the dishes served.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities were adequate, including a lovely outdoor pool that was perfect for relaxation. However, some areas could benefit from refurbishment to reach the standard expected of a hotel in this class.

5.4/10

I had a mixed experience at Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park. The location was convenient for attending nearby exhibitions, but the hotel felt a bit dated and was undergoing renovations. While the breakfast was tasty and the staff friendly, I was disappointed by the condition of certain areas and the noise during my stay.

Rooms
6.0
The room was decent overall, but needed a deep clean and some modern touches. The bathroom was spacious and clean, which I appreciated.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly and tried their best, but some struggled with English, leading to confusion on a few occasions.
Location
7.0
It’s a good spot if you’re attending an expo, surrounded by restaurants and shops, but it’s not ideal for tourists wanting to explore central Shanghai.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast had a great variety of fresh fruits and pastries, which was definitely a highlight of my stay.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities need some upgrade, especially given the ongoing construction. The pool being closed added to my disappointment during the summer.

I stayed at the Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park for a business expo, and the location was ideal. It's close to plenty of restaurants and just a short walk to the metro. The staff was friendly and attentive, though some aspects showed signs of age. The dining options, unfortunately, didn’t live up to expectations.

Rooms
6.0
I found the rooms spacious and beautifully designed. However, they felt a bit outdated, particularly the bathrooms. Upon arrival, my room was unfortunately covered in dust, suggesting it hadn't been used in a while.
Service
7.0
The staff was generally helpful, with a few standout individuals. Still, I noticed a lack of English proficiency, which sometimes made communication tricky.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was quite convenient for attending the expo. It's within walking distance to a decent mall and the subway station, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a disappointment for me. I felt that the breakfast was overpriced, and there were limited choices that didn't quite meet the 4-star standard I expected.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered various facilities, from room service to laundry. While it had a gym that was decent for working out, it could use some modern equipment.
